(Joplin, MO) – The Downtown Joplin Alliance is pleased to announce a call to artists for the tenth annual Joplin Arts Fest. This juried fine arts festival will be held on Friday, September 20 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex (212 W. 7th Street, Joplin, MO 64801).
Artists are being sought in the following disciplines:
- Works on Paper (Drawing/Graphics/Printmaking)
- Jewelry
- Painting
- Sculpture (Wood/Metal/Stone)
- Photography
- Fiber
- Ceramics/Clay
- 3-Dimensional Mixed Media
- 2-Dimensional Mixed Media
Artists will eligible to compete for $1,700 of prize money, which will be awarded during the two-day festival.
This festival is open to artists of all career levels. There is a $30 jury fee and the deadline to register is June 21, 2024. To apply, please click here.
For the third year in a row, Joplin Arts Fest will be able to award a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Scholarship, seeking to encourage greater accessibility and inclusion by waiving all festival fees and offering cash stipends to assist with other festival-related costs. The 2024 BIPOC Scholarship sponsor is Southwest Missouri Bank.
Joplin Arts Fest is a collaborative partnership between Connect2Culture, Downtown Joplin Alliance, Post Art Library, and Spiva Center for the Arts.
