Upcoming Events and Announcements

• The Fall 2023 Dean’s list is out! See the full list here. Congratulations to all the students who achieved honors this semester!
• The Skills USA District Welding Competition will be hosted at the Joplin Advanced Training & Technology Center on February 7 and 8 at 8:00 am. Students from area high schools and college participants will be competing. Those who place first and second will advance to the state competition in April.
• Crowder College will host One Act Reader’s Theatre on Thursday and Friday, February 15 and 16 in the Elsie Plaster Community Center.
• The Adult Education and Literacy program will host their “Love of Literacy” book drive on Thursday, February 15 at 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Wright Conference Center on the Neosho campus. Book collections are currently being accepted for the event. Learn more about this event here.
• Phi Theta Kappa’s (PTK) new member orientation will be held on Thursday, February 22 at 12:00 pm. PTK is the national honor society for community college students. Find out more about PTK here.
• Crowder Theatre’s production of The Diviners, written by Jim Leonard, Jr., and directed by Annie Smith, will be shown on March 7 to 9 in the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the Neosho campus. Read more about this production here.
• Crowder College’s Agriculture division will host their annual FFA speaking contest on March 7 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on the Neosho campus. Students from area FFA groups will participate in speaking contests to prepare for their upcoming district and state competitions. Aggie Day will be hosted on March 21.
• The Crowder College History Symposium continues with the next lecture on March 7 at 6:00 pm in the Wright Conference Center inside the Arnold Farber building. Dr. Justin Gage from the University of Arkansas will be speaking. He is the winner of the Outstanding Western Book by the Center for the Study of the American West and the Beatrice Medicine Award from the Association of the Study of American Indian Literature for his book We Do Not Want the Gates Closed Between Us: Native Networks and the Spread of the Ghost Dance.
  • The following lecture will be held on April 4, 2024.
• Spring break is March 11 to 15, 2024, and all Crowder campuses will be closed.
• Crowder College’s Founder’s Day Celebration will take place on April 2, 2024. Keep an eye out for upcoming details!
• On April 3, Crowder College’s Business Division will host its annual high school business contest on the Neosho campus.

Athletics Update

• Women’s Basketball will play at home on Wednesday, February 7 at 6:00 pm against North Arkansas.
• Crowder’s Softball Team started their season this past week. They are 3 to 0 and will play in Texas on February 9 and 10.
• The Baseball Team opened their season at the end of January. The team is ranked ninth in the NJCAA Division I and 2-0. They play at Johnson County on February 8 and return home to play on February 10.
