(Parsons, KS) – Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) has been chosen by Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas, as the exclusive provider of blood, plasma, and platelets, effective January 1, 2024. This designation expands CBCO’s role as the sole provider to patients at 45 area hospitals, including 44 institutions across southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas, and southeast Kansas. This partnership further solidifies CBCO’s commitment to ensuring a stable and reliable supply of blood and blood products to meet the healthcare needs of the community.

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will begin scheduling local blood drives as part of its initiative to bolster the region’s blood supply. Kenda Burnham, CBCO’s Senior Director of Donor Recruitment, emphasized the significance of community support in maintaining a robust and stable blood supply for the hospitals under their service. Burnham stated, “We are fortunate to collaborate with generous volunteer blood donors and mobile blood drive hosts across our service region. We eagerly anticipate forming new connections as we continue our mission to ensure a strong and reliable blood supply for the community’s healthcare needs.” Blood donations play a crucial role in treating patients facing cancer, trauma victims, and individuals undergoing major surgeries.
