JLT Presents It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Drama
JLT is already gearing up for the holiday season by planning their seasonal production, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Drama.
This beloved American holiday classic comes to life as a captivating, live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life on fateful Christmas Eve. The cast of JLT’s production include:
- Freddie Filmore — played by Greg Green
- Harry “Jazzbo” Heywood — played by Jeremy Hatley
- Jake Laurents — played by J.D. Dunn
- Lana Sherwood — played by Shelly Dunn
- Sally Applewhite — played by Lisa Green
- Foley Artist/Stage Manager — played by Andrew Seavy
The performance dates for this production are December 6 through 9 at 7:30 pm each day, as well as a matinee on Sunday, December 10 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. You can purchase yours online or by calling 417.623.3638.
Upcoming Auditions for Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike
JLT invites all thespians in the Joplin community to audition for their upcoming production of Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike, which will be run from January 31 to February 3, 2024 and February 4, 2024 under the direction of Hope Bethel.
Cast members needed include:
- One actress around 20 years old
- One actor around 20 years old
- Two actresses between the ages of 40 and 60
- One actor between the age of 40 and 60
- One actress of any age
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and will take place on Monday, December 11 and Tuesday, December 12 at 7:00 pm each night. Please note that this production is for mature audiences only due to adult language.
JLT Presents Be My Broadway Valentine
Mark your calendars for JLT’s 8th biennial Valentine Concert!
Open call auditions are scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at JLT. Auditions may also be submitted via video to mustbemarilyn@hotmail.com by Sunday, January 7, 2024. Please include any previous experience with the audition email.
The performance is set for Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:30 pm and at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $14 each and go on sale through the JLT office on Monday, January 15, 2024. They will also be available online.
