(Joplin, MO) – Soroptimist International of Joplin is excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for the annual Comedy for Camp, scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2023.
The event will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Red Door Barn, 9164 State Highway 43, in Webb City. Tickets are $55 per person, or $100 per couple. Prices include admission and dinner. Tickets are available here. A silent auction and a live auction will also be featured. A cash bar will be available.
Emcees for the event are Howie Nunnelly and Bubba Evansco with KODE-TV and KKOW 96.9 FM.
Opening comedian is James Johann. His self-deprecating sense of humor and high-energy style all come together to create a unique onstage persona. James relies more on his brain than the profane, and his comedy often hits upon the universal theme of failure and provides a truthful and hilarious reflection of life as he sees it. Besides headlining comedy clubs nationwide, James just completed the theatre tour “Paying for The New Trailer” (Blue Collar Comedy Tour) starring Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy.
Headliner Shawn Reynolds. Shawn is a well-known clean, Christian comedian who has spent years on the road performing at churches, theaters, non-profit fundraisers, conferences, concerts, holiday parties, galas, banquets, and even women’s events! He has toured with Tim Hawkins, Anita Renfroe, Michael Jr and Compassion International. He has a hilarious Dry Bar Comedy special, which was released in 2020. He has also headlined multiple tours including The UpStanding Comedy Tour in Canada, the Midwest Clean Comedy All-Stars Tour, and The Laughing In Person Tour in the Northeast region.
Funds raised from the event will support Soroptimist International of Joplin’s most significant service project, Camp Soroptimist. Camp Soroptimist is a week-long summer camp for children aged eight – 14 years old in the Jasper County foster system. Soroptimist International of Joplin works with the Department of Social Services to identify camp participants. Camp Soroptimist has been held for over 37 years.
