(Joplin, MO) – Holiday events are in full swing in downtown Joplin, including the Holiday Window Competition. This is an annual competition organized by Downtown Joplin Alliance (DJA), which includes different categories for businesses to strive for. All downtown business are welcome to participate; it’s not limited to Main Street!
This year’s theme is “Candyland Christmas.” Merchants have decked their storefronts and/or windows and are competing for trophies and bragging rights in the following categories:
- Best Use of Theme (Candyland Christmas)
- Most Lights
- Most Creative
Public online voting will be held from now until December 17. In order to vote, you may scan a QR code displayed at each location, visit the DJA’s Facebook page, or vote online here.
Winners will be announced on December 22 in the lobby of City Hall at 2:30 pm.
Lori Haun, Executive Director of DJA, states, “This year, we have more than two dozen participating locations. This is a great opportunity to take a walk through out lovely downtown, do some local holiday shopping, and cast your vote for the winners!”
