City of Joplin to Host 2026 Surplus Auction on September 19

The public is invited to take part in the City of Joplin’s annual surplus auction, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 19.

Held every fall, the surplus auction takes place in the Street Maintenance Barn at the Public Works Center, located at 1301 W. 2nd Street. The auction will begin at 9:00 am. Citizens are invited to attend and bid on any of the items. This year’s inventory includes hundreds of items such as computers, office equipment, and heavy machinery.

Those interested in machinery and/or vehicles can view those by appointment starting Monday, September 14. To make an appointment, call the City of Joplin Public Works Center at 417.624.0820, ext. 1566.

The viewing of other auction items will be from 8:00 to 9:00 am on Saturday, September 19, prior to the start of the auction.
