Crowder College’s Theatre Department to Hold Auditions for ‘Mean Girls, The Musical’ on August 18–19

(Neosho, MO)Crowder College’s Theatre Director, Annie Smith, announced on August 7 that open auditions will be held for the production of Mean Girls, The Musical (book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin).

The production will feature a large cast of teen and adult roles. Auditions will be held in the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the following days:

  • Tuesday, August 18 at 4:00 to 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday, August 19 at 2:00 to 4:00 pm
  • Callbacks (if needed) will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 4:00 to 6:00 pm

Anyone age 16 plus should prepare to sing 16 bars, approximately one minute, of a song that demonstrates vocal skills. Those auditioning must provide their own accompaniment. A cold reading from the script is required for all auditionees. A short dance movement will be taught during auditions for actors to perform.

The performance will be at 7:00 pm on October 23 and 24 with a matinee at 2:00 pm on October 25,.
