(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce’s You Belong work group will partner again for the “You Belong Celebration” during Third Thursday on June 18, 2026! This exciting evening of live music, food, and entertainment is all designed to bring folks together.
This season’s events are made possible thanks to KSN/KODE and JoplinRecycles.com: “From plastic bottles to metal cans, recycling in Joplin is easy. Get rolling—request your recycling cart today. Recycling benefits us all. Learn more here. Recycle. It’s how we roll.”
The evening’s events are set to include:
- Dancing, crafts, and cultural presentations from the Quapaw tribe (from 5:30 to 6:15 pm).
- Line dancing for all with a DJ on the corner of 6th and Main Streets (6:15 to 7:00 pm).
- Limited edition You Belong t-shirts from the You Belong booth on the 600 block, as well as gift basket raffles to support the group’s cause.
- Live music all evening, including from Chris Hewitt, Second Generation, Andrew Pommert, and a special performance from Analog Frogs on the 600 block.
- 120 vendors lining Main Street, as well as more than 25 food trucks and food booths.
- Lots of specials from the Boutique Marketplace Too (613 S. Main).
- A wine garden hosted by Vino Noir at 528 and 530 Main Street.
- A vintage car cruise and DJ on the 100 block, complete with trophies.
- An artisan market on the 500 block.
- A bounce house and face painting for kids.
Lori Haun, executive director of the Downtown Joplin Alliance, states, “The You Belong celebration is a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the ways that we are different, as well as the ways we are alike.”
Third Thursday is held from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month from March through October.
