(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance is thrilled to kick off the nineteenth season of Third Thursday with a “Go Green Downtown” themed event on March 19, 2026!
This season’s events are made possible thanks to KSN/KODE and JoplinRecycles.com: “From plastic bottles to metal cans, recycling in Joplin is easy. Get rolling — request your recycling cart today. Recycling benefits us all. Learn more here. Recycle. It’s how we roll.”
Visit the two JoplinRecycles.com booths during the event to learn more about the local recycling program and grab some nifty
swag, including: sunglasses and pens made from recycled plastic; stickers and reusable grocery bags. You can also check out (and
use!) the new recycling carts!
March’s “Go Green Downtown” sponsor is ALLO Fiber — stop by their storefront at 512 S Main St for a night of fun and surprises:
anyone who signs up for fiber service will receive a free dogwood upon install; free succulents for anyone who scans the ALLO QR
code; coloring for kids; snacks & treats and some more fun in the works (you have to come by to see!)
The evening’s event include:
- Live music from Paul Blakely, Cai Gray, 7-Tang, Baylee’s Music Academy, and Andrew Pommert.
- More than 100 vendors will line Main Street, including over 20 food trucks and food booths.
- The Boutique Marketplace Too (613 S. Main Street) will have Ronni’s Custom Designs & The Brick Pit as their special indoor/outdoor vendors. Their motto for Third Thursday is “Dress the Theme, Save Some Green.” So, if you plan your outfit to match the theme of each Third Thursday, you’ll save $10 off your purchase that night.
- Countryside Flowers (424 S. Joplin Avenue) will be celebrating their Spring Open House beginning at 5:00 pm. Stop by to explore their new spring lines, fresh arrivals, and seasonal favorites.
- Vino Noir will have its Wine Garden set up in front of 528 and 530 S. Main Street.
- The Salvation Army of Jasper and Newton Counties will be setting up a photobooth using thrifted items and props from their family store and will be taking free photos for those who want one.
- Vintage car cruise and DJ on the 100 block (complete with trophies)!
- Artisan market located on the 500 block.
- A bounce house and face painting for the kids.
Downtown Joplin Alliance encourages all attendees to wear their best green outfits to stroll around downtown.
