Visit Joplin Announces CPKC Holiday Train Visit on November 29 Feature Musical Performances by Smash Mouth and J.J. Wilde

(Joplin, MO) Visit Joplin is excited to announce that the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad (CPKC) will have their Holiday Train in Joplin on Saturday, November 29 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Union Depot!

The CPKC Holiday Train combines an engine and train cars decorated for the season. One of the center box cars coverts into a stage for a live, 30-minute holiday music performance. Though CPKC promotes several entertainers supporting this year’s program, Smash Mouth and J.J. Wilde will perform for the Joplin stop.

The 2025 CPKC Holiday Train will tour Canada and the United States from November 19 through December 21, raising money, food, and awareness to support food banks across the communities it transits. Professional musicians play a free concert from a seasonally decorated train’s stage. CPKC donates to the local food banks at each stop and encourages attendees to donate monetarily or to contribute heart-healthy food to their local food bank.

Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $26 million and collected approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.

Parking is limited at the Union Depot, so patrons are encouraged to access the grounds from B Street and North Main Street. Please note that the rough natural terrain of the area may be challenging for those who need assistance.
