Missouri Southern State University’s Lion Co-Op to Host Empty Bowls Fundraiser on April 9

Join Missouri Southern State University’s (MSSU) Lion Co-Op for their Empty Bowls fundraiser on Wednesday, April 9 from 11:30 to 1:00 pm at the Ron Richard Athletic Center!

This fundraiser will focus on raising money for MSSU’s Groceries to Graduate program, which helps students gain access to fresh groceries by giving them tokens for the Webb City Farmer’s Market and Joplin’s Empire Market.

For $25, each attendee at the Empty Bowls fundraiser will receive a bowl made by students at MSSU’s Department of Art and Design, soup, bread, and a dessert! Extra bowls will be available to purchase for $15 each. See you there!

About the Lion Co-Op:

The Lion Co-Op is a donation-based food pantry that serves the entire Missouri Southern State University campus. The pantry offers nonperishable items such as canned goods, noodles, and fruit cups as well as perishable foods like milk and eggs. They also have two deep freezers for bread and venison, donations from hunters through the state’s Share the Harvest program as well as a glass door refrigerator that allows students to have access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
