(Joplin, MO) – Joplin Empire Market is celebrating their 7th Birthday Bash this April, in combination with a rescheduled Goats in the Garden event, which was previously scheduled for March 8.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, during normal market hours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Attendees can sign a birthday card, feast on cake, and play with little goats in the Empire Market’s Community Gardens. A few of the market’s dedicated farmers will be bringing their goats along for the party, along with other community partners like students from Joplin 4-H.
Visitors to the Birthday Bash will also get to witness the official unveiling of the 2025 Market Poster — designed this year as a class project by students in the Art Portfolio class at Joplin High School. The Empire Market was the “client” with the students in the class providing rough concepts for the poster, according to a design brief. Final proofs were chosen and the artists submitted their finished designs. The winning entry will have their artwork on the poster for the rest of the year.
Limited edition merch will also be available beginning April 26 in celebration of the market’s birthday, including a new edition of the Downtown Icons t-shirt, featuring the names of some of Downtown Joplin’s most significant historic buildings.
Visitors can shop all three market halls, with fresh produce, pastured meat, artisan goods, coffee from Cottage Small Coffee Roasters, live music from local favorites like Project Six, and ready-to-eat food all available. A photo booth will be set up for customers to visit as well.
