Lori Worthington Selected as Executive Director of Joplin Regional Alliance for Healthcare and Health Sciences

(Joplin, MO)The Board of the Joplin Regional Alliance for Healthcare and Health Sciences (JRAH) is excited to announce that they have selected Lori Worthington as the Executive Director of JRAH.  

“We are elated to have someone of Lori’s caliber leading this exciting new endeavor,” says Travis Stephens, President and CEO of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. “Lori, and the JRAH, will aim to align the goals and objectives of our area health-related education institutions and health care providers to elevate our region both economically and from a quality of health perspective.”  

JRAH, a coalition of key regional leaders, that includes the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, the Farber Foundation, Mercy, Freeman Health System, Missouri Southern State University, Kansas City University Joplin, Crowder College, and the City of Joplin, strives to support and advance excellence in health-related initiatives by connecting health care providers and educational institutions so they can align their objectives and collaborate to build a talent pipeline. Worthington’s skills and experience make her an excellent fit for this mission.  

She has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance, health care technology, and health care population/health and data analytics fields. She is a graduate of Drury University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Communications. In 2013, Worthington co-founded Right Angle Advisors, Inc., a boutique consulting firm serving health care stakeholders, which was selected to be part of ScaleUP! Kansas City in 2017.  

She has previously worked with health systems, health insurers, and employee benefit plans. Her previous positions have been with Lockton Benefit Group, Mid-America Health, now an Aetna company, and Cox Health Systems.  

“I’m thrilled to be joining this community initiative,” says Worthington. “I’m looking forward to working with students, educators, business leaders, and health care professionals to ensure we recruit, train, support, and retain health care professionals who will keep quality health care readily available and accessible to everyone in our region’s communities.”  

The JRAH Board is hosting a welcome reception on Thursday, February 6, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. The event will take place at the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce (320 E 4th Street). Anyone that has an interest in the regional health alliance and its initiatives are encouraged to attend.

About JRAH:

The Alliance will be working with community entrepreneurs, businesses, healthcare stakeholders, and educational institutions to develop and execute a strategic plans and programming to fortify long-term growth of Joplin’s healthcare and health science sectors. This includes recruiting and educating new entrants into healthcare careers as well as retention of experienced healthcare workers within the region, and new products and services development to maximize economic development opportunities for the greater Joplin region across the four states it serves.
