(Joplin, MO) – The 6th Annual Empire Market Chili Cookoff will be hosted at the Joplin Empire Market on January 18, 2025. Judging will begin at 10:00 am.
Public tasting begins at 10:30 am in the Lineman’s Hall (Hall 1) — a suggested donation of $5 will allow patrons to visit all the contestants and get cups of chili to try. Complementary crackers will be provided. All proceeds from the tasting will go towards the Empire Market’s Bunny & Jane Newton Community Kitchen fund. Cash prizes and trophies will given for first, second, and third place as well as a trophy for People’s Choice.
Other great market vendors will be set up as well so patrons can come and grab their favorite local breads, produce, wine, plants, honey, eggs, coffee, pastured meat, bath and body products, and artisan goods.
