City of Joplin to Host Council in the Park Events Throughout 2025

Do you have questions or concerns about how your municipal government works? Want a chance to meet your council members? Have an idea you’d like for them to consider?

Please join the City of Joplin for Council in the Park. This is not a formal meeting of the council, there is no agenda, and no items will be voted on. Up to three council members will be present at each of these Council in the Park events over the next year, to avoid having a quorum of council present, as no official city business will be decided during these events.

The first one was held at Ewert Park on Monday, October 14, from 5:45 pm to 7 pm. Mark your calendar for all the upcoming 2025 dates:

  • Monday, January 13, 2025 – Held at the Joplin History & Mineral Museum
  • Monday, April 15, 2025 – Held at the Joplin Athletic Complex
  • Monday, July 14, 2025 – Held in Cunningham Park

These events provide Council members with a chance to meet and engage with the public, to answer questions, listen to ideas, and address concerns. They’re eager to hear from you!
