(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to share that they have selected Jackie Maier as the Chamber’s new Director of Finance. The Chamber’s current Finance Manager, Debby Chaligoj, is retiring in November. Maier will spend the next few months training with Chaligoj and shadowing her to prepare for this new role.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jackie to the Chamber team!” says Travis Stephens, President and CEO of the Joplin Chamber. “She recently relocated to Joplin from a large metro area where she had an extensive background in accounting, financial processes, and operational management. She will be instrumental to the Chamber’s future success as we continue to upgrade and streamline our processes to better serve our members and meet the demands of our growing and evolving community.”
Maier has degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas, as well as 30 years of experience in the accounting and tax industry. Most recently, she comes from Kellog and Andelson, Inc. in Mission, Kansas where she served as Vice President of Tax Operations and Client/Staff Relationships.
Maier’s first day with the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce was September 3. As Finance Manager, she will strive to maintain fiscal responsibility within the Chamber so that the organization can continue to be a resource for its members and the business community.
