Summer Reading Continues!
JPL is excited to share the numbers for Summer Reading so far! June was a great month of programs, reading, and fun! The Library staff loves to hear what everyone is reading and learning about, and they can’t wait to see what July brings!
Summer Reading Ending Celebration on July 20
While there’s still time to participate in Summer Reading, the Library staff wants to be sure that you join them on July 20 for the ending celebration of the Summer Reading program. They have this celebration each year to gather as a community and celebrate the hours of reading, programming, and fun that have been accomplished!
The fun includes:
- A mobile art lab from Crystal Bridges
- Live music
- Indoor and outdoor games
- Much more!
This year’s celebration will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and will feature activities throughout the Library and outside as well, weather permitting.
Free Summer Meals for Area Children and Teens at JPL
The Library is happy to partner with Joplin Schools as a distribution site for free summer lunches for area children. Meals will be served starting July 1 in the vending area of the Library from 11:00 to 11:30 am, as supplies last.
A Library card is not required, but meals must be eaten on site.
All area children 18 and under are welcome!
