Ozark Christian College Hosts Creative Arts Academy

(Joplin, MO) – This week, over 160 high school students came to Ozark Christian College (OCC) for the school’s annual Creative Arts Academy, a weeklong creative arts camp offering training in music, photography, videography, writing, graphic design, and more.

This year, Ozark is collaborating with Joplin’s Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex and Spiva Center for the Arts to host an exhibit of all the students’ visual art. The students’ art will be on display at the Cornell Center on Friday, June 14, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the public is invited to stop in.

“The Purpose of the Creative Arts Academy,” says OCC Worship and Creative Arts Director Matt Stafford, “is to inspire a generation of high school artists to create Jesus culture in the world. To literally transform the world using art. To tell the story of Jesus in a way that will change the world.”

Details about guest teachers and more can be found here. The community is invited to attend the closing program this Friday, June 14, at 4:00 pm in the OCC Chapel.
