Joplin Schools’ Parents as Teachers Announce Dates for Summer Activities

Joplin Schools‘ Parents as Teachers (PAT) is excited to announce their summer events now that the school year is over!

Joplin’s Parents as Teachers is a 12-month program, and they work year round to better serve families! They have several group events happening throughout the summer and they’re excited to invite the community to them.

Joplin Parents as Teachers Walking Group

Every Wednesday in May and June | 9:00 am | Mercy Park | Canceled in case of rain

The Joplin PAT is continuing with their walking groups throughout the summer! Their group meets each Wednesday at 9:00 am in Mercy Park in Joplin. They have an average of seven families in each week.

Popsicles in the Park

Thursday, July 11 | 10:00 to 11:00 am | Cunningham Park

Join Joplin PAT for Popsicles in the Park on July 11! Come out and enjoy a sweet treat and sunshine in Cunningham Park.

Making a Splash with PAT

Tuesday, July 23 | 10:00 to 11:00 am | King Jack Park

Come make a splash with PAT at King Jack Park! Bring your kiddos for some summer fun, along with sunscreen and water.

Preschool Screenings

PAT is also still conducting preschool screenings throughout the summer. If you live in a Joplin Schools attendance zone with a child who will be three or four years old before August 1, your child may be eligible for free preschool!
