KOAM-TV and FOX 14’s Hero Fund Day of Giving Set for April 18, 2024

KOAM-TV and FOX-14 have joined forces with Hero Fund USA for a Hero Fund Day of Giving Telethon on April 18, at Roper Honda, (902 North Range Line Road). Hero Fund USA is a nonprofit organization that helps first responders through a 50/50 funding match for state-of-the-art safety equipment. The telethon will run from 12:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

To donate, viewers may call 888.620.4869, donate securely online, or donate in person at Roper Honda. Cash, check, and credit/debit cards are accepted. The goal of the telethon is to raise $33,500 to help fund seven different requests from the following organizations: the Montgomery County, Kansas Sheriff’s Department; the Carl Junction, Missouri, Police Department; the Independence, Kansas, Fire Department; the Galesburg, Kansas, Fire Department; the Granby, Missouri, Fire and Police Departments; and the Sarcoxie, Missouri, Fire Department.

“It’s an honor to support local first responder efforts through the Hero Fund USA Telethon,” said KFJX (FOX 14) General Manager Darren Dishman. “Through the generosity of our viewers, we can all come together to help provide them with the life-saving equipment they need to help keep the first responders and their communities safe.”

The live broadcast during KOAM News at noon will be hosted on location by Weather Anchor Chris Warner and the evening broadcasts will be hosted by Anchor/Producer Tawnya Bach. Interviews with local first responders will highlight each broadcast.
