“This is not just another race”

This unique 5K does not have fees and will not put pressure on participants’ time or running experience.

“This is not just another race,” said Erik Bartlett, owner of Runaround Running & Lifestyle. “We’d like to embrace the true essence of running events, which is coming together with our community, getting active, and making a real difference in the lives of others. We believe that every run is a good run, and every walk is a good walk, so we encourage everyone in the community to join us.”

In lieu of a registration fee, participants are encouraged to donate directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States on the registration site. Every dollar donated will support the work done at Ronald McDonald House of the Four States and Ronald McDonald Family Room at Mercy Hospital.

“Our Charity is all about community involvement — it’s the only way we can operate our two programs, Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room,” said Lori Jones, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States. “What better way to celebrate 25 years of this incredible support than by opening our race to the whole community, with no barriers to participation? We want this event to focus on what truly matters: community, an active lifestyle, and supporting a great cause.”

About Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States:

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States has served our communities since 1996 through its mission, which is to create, find, and support programs that directly support the health and well-being of children and their families. That mission is executed through its cornerstone program, Ronald McDonald House, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room, located at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Our House provides temporary lodging for families of seriously ill children (ages 0-21) and ill expectant mothers, while our Family Room serves as a small oasis for families of pediatric patients just steps away from their child’s hospital room. For the more than 200 families that Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States serves annually, we give a family with a sick child what they need most – each other.
