Freeman Health System Dedicates Brand New Medical Office Building

Three-story structure is new home for urology, dermatology, and neurosurgery

(Joplin, MO) – The newest addition to Freeman Health System’s ever-changing skyline is ready for occupation.

On Friday, March 1, Freeman leadership will cut ribbon to the brand new $10.1 million medical office building, located at 3401 W. McIntosh Circle Drive. The 30,169-square-foot facility houses offices for physicians specializing in pain management, dermatology, urology, and neurosurgery.

“This building offers the area’s most comprehensive range of medical specialties,” said Paula Baker, Freeman’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “This is our next step in the continual upgrading and improvement of our services and facilities.”

The building includes procedure rooms, a lab, x-ray services, two elevators and unique features including a covered canopy on the main level for patient pickup and drop off and a connector bridge to neighboring Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute for better accessibility. The building itself sits within sight of Freeman Hospital West.

“It’s incredibly important to have Freeman doctors, based in dedicated offices, close to the hospital,” said Dr. David Baker, Freeman’s Chief Medical Officer. “We want to make it as easy as possible for patients to go from building to building. To have everything in such close proximity allows us the opportunity to really centralize their care.”
