(Joplin, MO) – Lafayette House will be conducting In Her Shoes at the Joplin Public Library on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
In Her Shoes is a simulation tool designed to allow women and men the opportunity to walk “in the shoes” of an individual who is experiencing violence and abuse.
Domestic and sexual violence is gender-primary, but it is not gender specific. We encourage guests to come alone or in a group as they will make decisions just like an individual experiencing domestic or sexual violence does.
This is a free come-and-go event that is open to the public and no tickets are necessary.
About Lafayette House:
Lafayette House is a private non-profit organization serving adults, children, and families experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or substance use disorders. The organization serves 1,200 people each year from a seven-county area in southwest Missouri.
