‘Newsmakers’ Shares Community Connections

(Joplin, MO) – Growing the community’s business and industry base is the goal of the Carthage Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. Both are looking to industrial parks to be a drawing card for companies that can bring jobs and revenue to the area.

This week on Newsmakers, Jeff Meredith, Chief Executive Officer of CEDC, discusses a plan to purchase land for a new industrial park south of Carthage. Travis Stephens, President and CEO of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, will also discuss Joplin’s Crossroads Business Park and what its available properties have to offer prospective companies. Viewers will also get an inside look at Ajinomoto North American Foods, which is located and expanded in the Joplin Crossroads Business Park.

The show Newsmakers airs nightly at 5:00 and 9:00 pm through the week on KGCS-TV and will also be broadcast at 5:30 am on Saturday, July 15 on KOAM-TV. It can also be viewed on the station’s YouTube Channel, KGCS Missouri Southern.
