Missouri Southern State University’s Choral Society Spring Concert to Take Place on May 7

(Joplin, MO) – The Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) Choral Society will perform its annual Spring Concert on Sunday, May 7, 3:00 pm at the First Community Church, 2007 E 15th Street, in Joplin.

The concert includes several selections to delight the audience, including the Irish ballad “Danny Boy,” John Rutter’s “Look at the World,” and a rousing medley “Give Me that Old Time Religion.”  In addition, two African songs will be performed, Indodana and Sitahamba, one in Zulu and the other in isiXhosa, among several other sections.

The chorus of 50 voices is under the direction of Melissa Belk and Clint Newby is the accompanist. The event is free, and donations will be gratefully accepted.
