Wildcat Glades Friends Group Releases February 2023 Program List

This February, the Wildcat Glades Friends Group, along with other partners, will be hosting a few preschool connections programs, a Nature Explorers program, an Adult Craft Class, and several Yoga in Nature classes. Sign up for one below!

Yoga in Nature for Adults

February 11 | 8:30 to 9:30 am | For ages 12 and older | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage

Led by Amanda, a registered yoga teacher, this beginners’ yoga class is designed to incorporate elements of nature, breathing, and yoga poses. Bring your yoga mat or a towel and a reusable water bottle for this beginner’s class.

Yoga in Nature for Kids

February 11 | 10:30 am | For ages 4 and older, accompanied by an adult | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage

Bring your yoga mat or a towel and a reusable water bottle for this beginner’s class. Yoga is a beneficial exercise for children’s health and even better when it can be done outdoors.

Preschool Program: Snowy Valentine

February 8 @ 10:00 to 11:00 am | February 11 @ 1:00 to 2:00 pm | For kids ages three to seven | Free class sponsored by Calvin Cassady | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage

Valentine’s Day is near and we have the perfect story as Bunny finds a gift for his loved one. Join us for  a story, a song, and a craft for our loved ones.

Nature Explorers: Raccoons

February 20 @ 1:00 to 2:00 pm | For kids ages seven to 14 | Free class sponsored by Calvin Cassady | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage

Raccoons are one of those can’t-miss-mammals that have a lot of strange behaviors! Though they are common and well-known, there are many things about raccoons that would surprise you. Join us as we learn all about these critters.

Adult Programs: Nature’s Clean-Up Crew

February 21 @ 5:30 pm | For ages 13 and older| Free class sponsored by Calvin Cassady | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage

Being the janitors of the natural world, our detritivores, carrion eaters, and composting plants often go unnoticed even though these plants and critters are the ones helping keep our ecosystems clean! Join us to learn about skunks, vultures, carrion beetles, yarrow, and more!

Adult Program: Natural Décor and Succulents You Won’t Need to Water

February 28 @ 6:00 to 8:00 pm | For kids ages 13+ | Wildcat Glades Education Cottage | $10 each 

Are you someone who can’t seem to keep a cactus alive? Well, this is the class for you! This activity will center on creating a unique nature craft that each person will be able to take home with them. It will involve painting, cutting, and gluing, and it will be a two-hour class. This will be for adults only with a limit of ten individuals. The cost will be $10 per person and spots will fill up fast!
