(Joplin, MO) – Historic Mo-Kan Dragway welcomes the return of Tyler West as the new General Manager for its 61st Season. Mo-Kan owner Carl Blanton, said, “Tyler’s time as a racer, marketing director, and track manager at Palm Beach and Amarillo have prepared him for this new challenge. Craig, Gena, and I look forward to working with Tyler to continue to move Mo-Kan forward.”
West started with Mo-Kan Dragway as a part-time employee at the age of 14 and is familiar with the facility’s rich history. “I’m honored to have been given this opportunity. Mo-Kan Dragway is such a special place for me and countless others within the racing community,” said West. “I look forward to working alongside the Mo-Kan crew as we continue to provide lifelong memories for our great fans and racers.”
After working and racing at Mo-Kan for over a decade, Tyler took a leap to work full-time in the motorsports industry. He would go on to serve as the Director of Corporate Partnerships with Memphis International Raceway, as Drag Strip Operations Manager at Palm Beach International Raceway, and most recently served as the General Manager of Amarillo Dragway.
Mo-Kan Dragway is looking forward to another great season in 2023. Major events this season include the 57th running of the Memorial Day Classic, Hot Summer Nights, the 61st Anniversary Celebration feature Nitro CHAOS, SPAM Drags, and the American Hot Rod Reunion. Mo-Kan Dragway will also be the site of the 2023 Funny Car CHAOS World Finals during the 61st Annual Labor Day weekend classic as well as the Titans of 10.5 World Finals later in September.
