JLT Thanks Their Trunk-or-Treaters

JLT would like to thank everyone who attended their Trunk-or-Treat event on October 28, 2022. Children and their families enjoyed candy and lots of fun. See you next year!

JLT Presents Their Upcoming Show: The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered

The long-running soap opera The Bold and the Young is in its last days: its hunky hero has self-esteem issues, its villainous old man is more interested in soup, and its heroines are slightly psychopathic. The executive producer gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: Complete one episode overnight or the show dies. But when the director ends up murdered, and other cast members start dropping like flies, it seems like his threat might actually come true. Can these misfits discover the murderer before the show is literally killed off?

Performance dates are Wednesday, November 16 through 19 at 7:30 pm with a matinee on Sunday, November 20 at 2:30 pm. The cast is as follows:

  • Jake Strong — Landon Brown
  • Sebastian Strong — Jarrett Little
  • Valencio Di Carpathio — JD Dunn
  • Mona Jeffries — Susie Lundy
  • Eileen Silverstedt — Lisa Olliges Green
  • Jessica Silverstedt — Michaela West
  • Dr. William Bradley — Shaun Conroy
  • Sequoiya — Bri Blair
  • Oli — Michelle Haden
  • Kaitlin — Jennifer Jones
  • Keri — Anne Marie Wright
  • Louis — Cade Sinclair
  • Miles — Patrick James

Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students and senior citizens. To purchase your tickets, please call 417.623.3638 or visit joplinlittletheatre.org.

Auditions for Proof by David Auburn

JLT will be holding auditions for their next show, Proof by David Auburn, on Monday and Tuesday, November 21 to 22 at 7:00 pm each night. The production will be directed by Lisa Olliges Green, who is looking for a cast consisting of:

  • Two actresses to play Catherine, who is turning 25, and her older sister.
  • Two actors to play the Father, who is between 50 and 70, and Hal, who is a graduate student in his twenties or thirties.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script of the play. Performance dates are scheduled for Wednesday, January 11 to Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 7:30 pm nightly. A matinee show will be held on Sunday, January 15 at 2:30 pm.

In Proof, Catherine approaches her 25th birthday questioning whether she has inherited her father’s mathematical genius or his insanity — or both. This, as one of his former students becomes an unlikely suitor for Catherine, while he’s searching for her father’s notebooks for a groundbreaking proof. Meanwhile, Catherine’s older sister returns home from New York City with her own plans for Catherine’s future.
