Community Blood Center of the Ozarks’ You Pick – Fuel, Food, or Film Blood Drive on September 2

(Joplin, MO)Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 44 area Ozark hospitals, is urging donors to give blood to help ensure a strong blood supply before the Labor Day holiday weekend and get some great gifts during the Fuel, Food, or Film Blood Drive.

Donate blood at a Community Blood Center of the Ozarks donor center on Friday, September 2, and receive two free tickets to the Dickerson Park Zoo, then choose from one of three additional fun rewards. Pick either:

  • FUEL: Fuel your Labor Day weekend adventures with a $10 Kum & Go gas card.
  • FOOD: Choose one item from a selection of gift cards, coupons, or other free food items from local and national restaurants.
  • FILM: Enjoy a $10 Fandango movie pass, redeemable at most area movie theaters.

The drive will be held Friday, September 2 at all four Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Donor Centers in Springfield, Joplin, Springdale, and Bentonville. Donation hours for the Fuel, Food or Film Blood Drive are:

Springfield Thomson Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Road 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Joplin Joplin Donor Center, 101 N. Range Line Road 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Springdale Springdale Donor Center, 3503 S. Thompson Street 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Bentonville Bentonville Donor Center, 1400 SE Walton Boulevard 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

All donor centers will be closed Monday, September 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

With the holiday weekend approaching, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is asking community members to donate and help boost blood reserves. “The Fuel, Food or Film Blood Drive is a fun event to reward donors for answering our call to help stock the blood reserves before the holiday weekend” CBCO Media Relations Representative Michelle Teter said. “As everyone gets ready to celebrate the unofficial end of summer, they can feel really good about helping others in their community by giving the gift of life.”

To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment at cbco.org/donate-blood. On behalf of local hospital patients, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community.
