CBCO Great Gas Card Giveaway Blood Drive on May 27

Just before Memorial Day weekend, give yourself a treat and save lives during the Great Gas Card giveaway blood drive

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood and plasma to patients at 44 area Ozark hospitals, are asking donors to donate blood before the Memorial Day weekend.

The drive takes place on Friday, May 27, 2022, at CBCO Donor Centers in Springfield and Joplin, MO and Springdale and Bentonville, AR. Donors who give blood at one of the four donor centers will receive a fun T-shirt and a mystery Kum & Go gift card valued anywhere from $10 to $100, while supplies last! Give blood, help “fuel” local patients and put some gas in your tank, during the Great Gas Card Giveaway.

Donation hours for the Great Gas Card Giveaway Blood Drive are:

  • Springfield — Thomson Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Road (8:00 am to 6:00 pm)
  • Joplin — Joplin Donor Center, 101 N. Rangeline Road (8:00 am to 2:00 pm)
  • Springdale — Springdale Donor Center, 3503 S. Thompson Street (8:00 am to 2:00 pm)
  • Bentonville — Bentonville Donor Center, 1400 SE Walton Blvd. (8:00 am to 2:00 pm)

All donor centers will be closed on Monday, may 30 in observance of Memorial Day.

With the holiday weekend approaching, CBCO is asking community members to donate and help boost blood reserves. “This is an important blood drive as we head into the long holiday weekend and summer,” CBCO Media Relations Representative Michelle Teter said. “Blood needs in area hospitals tend to increase during the summer months, while donations tend to decrease due to the loss of most of our high school and college blood drives. During these times, we depend on our holiday heroes who step up to help ensure that we have a strong blood supply for local patients.”

Appointments are strongly encouraged for this blood drive, but walk-ins are also welcome. Make an appointment to give here.

It takes around 200 blood donations each day to serve the patients at the 44 area Ozark hospitals. When you give blood with CBCO, your generous donation is giving life to your community.
