(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Public Library is excited to announce Star Wars Days — The Library Strikes Back! This drop-in event will take place all day on May 4, 5, and 6, 2022 during regular library hours. This event is for all ages and a library card is not required to participate, but is required to check out any Star Wars-related materials.
Participants are encouraged to dress up in costumes if they so desire and take advantage of our photo-op area, complete with props! Additional offerings include a “Build Your Own Droid, craft activity” “I Spy with My Jedi Eye” scavenger hunt, and other Star Wars-themed fun. Activities will be taking place throughout the library building, so participants are encouraged to explore them all.
In preparing for this event, Joplin Public Library Director, Jeana Gockley, remarked, “We believe this new themed program will be well-received by our community. Star Wars, in all its forms, has entertained library users for decades, and we’re excited to harness that energy, or Force, if you will, into an engaging event for all ages.”
