Red Collar Pet Food’s New Program Helps People Find Careers and Pets Find New Homes

The “Find a Career, Save a Pet” program aims to fill dozens of jobs in the Four States area at Red Collar’s Joplin, Missouri and Miami, Oklahoma manufacturing plants and offset costs of finding pets forever homes from Joplin Humane Society

(Joplin, MO)Red Collar Pet Foods (“Red Collar”), a leading private label and national brand contract manufacturer of pet food and treats, announced a new innovative recruiting initiative to help people and pets in the Four States area. The “Find a Career, Save a Pet” program aims to pair people with well-paying, rewarding careers while finding new homes for loving pets. For each new job offer extended by Red Collar at the Joplin, Missouri and Miami, Oklahoma plants through the end of May, the company will sponsor the cost of adopting a pet at the Joplin Humane Society.

“At Red Collar, serving pets is at the heart of everything we do, so we believe the new “Find a Career, Save a Pet” program is the best way to demonstrate our passion for helping pets while also finding like-minded people to join our team,” said Stormy Ray, Human Resources at Red Collar. “Where else can you find a great career with benefits, sign-on bonus and save a pet at the same time? It’s an exciting time to work for Red Collar as we continue to grow and serve more customers and pets with high-quality, safe and nutritious pet food and treats. If you care about pets and want to join a company that gives back to the community, then come join us!”

The “Find a Career, Save a Pet” program kicked off at the Missouri Job Center’s Job-A-Palooza event on April 14, sponsored by Red Collar. At the event, six lucky pets were chosen to have their adoption fees sponsored when six candidates received offers for employment. The program has a goal to fill up to 45 jobs in the area and cover the cost of the same amount of pet adoptions at Joplin Humane Society by the end of May.

The six sponsored pets available now at the Joplin Humane Society are:

  • Klaus is a 2–3-year-old neutered male German Shepherd with a medium energy level. He knows the commands “sit” and “down”. He is great with other dogs and indifferent to cats. He is a sweet, gentle giant with cute ears.
  • Mira is a 1-year-old spayed female domestic short hair cat. She is sweet with beautiful eyes and a little timid and bashful when being held. She loves playing with her toys and hiding under the kitty tree.
  • Greta is a 1-year-old spayed female domestic short hair cat. She is a sweet tabby kitty who’s very playful and curious — instantly purring and meowing when held.
  • Beauford is a 4–6-month-old neutered male Labrador Retriever mix puppy. He is timid and needs a family willing to be patient and provide lots of love since he had a rough start to life.
  • Fury is a 4–6-month-old neutered male Labrador Retriever. He is a sweet, playful medium size puppy who just wants to give kisses and be loved.
