(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Empire Market is planning a Goats in the Garden Event.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 5, during normal market hours from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Master Gardener Eric Osen will have some of his baby goats out in the Market’s Community Gardens. Stop by and play with them, help feed them, grab a photo, and learn about how they are raised.
This is also a great time to snag one of our Community Garden beds for you to do your own planting this year!
Ivy Hagedorn, Programming & Marketing Director of the Downtown Joplin Alliance, says, “If you are looking for a fun, free, family-friendly way to spend your Saturday, come see the Goats in the Garden at Empire Market! Spring is on its way, so come play with the goats and check out our Community Garden beds at the same time.”
In case of inclement weather (or cold), the goats will be held in Hall 3 of the market.
Our regular farmers market will also be ongoing in Halls 1 and 2. Visitors can shop all our vendors with fresh produce, pastured meat, artisan goods, coffee from Cottage Small Coffee Roasters, wine from Just a Taste, and ready-to-eat food all available.
There is no charge for entry into the event.
