City of Joplin Offices Closed, Council Meeting Shifted Due to Presidents’ Day Holiday

(Joplin, MO) – In recognition of Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 21, City of Joplin offices will be closed that day, and the Joplin City Council’s regularly scheduled third Monday meeting will be moved to Tuesday, February 22. The rescheduled meeting will begin at 6:00 pm and will be held on the fifth floor of City Hall in the Council Chambers.

City Hall and other City services, including the Recycling Center, Sunshine Lamp Trolley, and MAPS system will be closed on President’s Day, February 21. Joplin City Hall and other City operations will reopen at their regular time on Tuesday, February 22.

Residential trash service and curbside recycling will not change due to this holiday.

KGCS-TV, Missouri Southern State University’s (MSSU) television station, will broadcast the meeting live on February 22 and will offer a re-broadcast later in the week.

KGCS-TV is a service of the Department of Communication at MSSU. Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 21 and on regional cable television systems, including Sparklight, Mediacom, and Suddenlink.
