“The Best Christmas Pageant” Ever Comes to Ozark Christian College

This year's pageant is definitely like no other

(Joplin, MO) Ozark Christian College (OCC) is excited to welcome the community to this year’s Christmas production, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical, which will be held on December 2–5 in the college chapel.

Based on the book by Barbara Robinson, and under the direction of OCC’s Shannon Wendt, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical tells the story of six rowdy siblings who come to church to steal snacks and end up taking over the annual Christmas pageant.

“Their bullying of the church kids, their interesting rewrites to the traditional Christmas story, and their love of smoke and fire have the whole community calling for the show to be canceled,” says OCC professor Beth DeFazio, who plays Grace Bradley in the show. “But in the end, it’s those who thought they know Christmas best who learn the most.”

Performances will be Thursday–Sunday, December 2–5, with evening shows at 7:00 pm on Thursday–Saturday and matinees at 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased online at occ.edu/christmas.

Ozark Christian College is located at 1111 N. Main in Joplin. Founded in 1942, Ozark is committed to training men and women for Christian service.
