(Joplin, MO) – Connect2Culture (C2C), Joplin’s community arts agency, has released the lineup for its Curtains Up Series, a performing arts series that brings national touring artists to Joplin.
“We are thrilled to offer Joplin residents and visitors a wide variety of live performances from exceptional artists,” said Emily Frankoski, Director of Connect2Culture. “Thanks to our sponsors, including our top billing sponsor, Freeman Health System, this year’s series will do just that.”
C2C’s fourth annual Curtains Up Series will utilize the Joplin High School Performing Arts Center, the Ozark Christian College Chapel, Central Christian Center, and the Joplin Empire Market Courtyard for a total of six performances:

* This performance is a collaborative endeavor including The Minnie Hackney Community Service Center of Joplin, George Washington Carver National Monument, Joplin Emancipation Park Days, Missouri Southern State University, Post Art Library, Pro Musica, Spiva Center for the Arts, and Visit Joplin. Las Cafeteras

Born and raised in east L.A., Las Cafeteras remix roots music and tell modern-day stories of Latino and immigrant lives. Using traditional Son Jarocho instruments, Las Cafeteras sing in English, Spanish, and Spanglish while melding styles like rock, hip-hop, and rancheras. This will be a BYOC (bring your own chair) performance. General Admission Tickets: $20.
