(Joplin, MO) – The City of Joplin will soon begin construction on the West 32nd Street widening project.
An open house public meeting with City engineers and representatives of Emery Sapp & Sons has been scheduled from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, in the Parish Center of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 3035 S. Central City Road. Citizens may drop by any time during these hours to view the final plans and ask questions about the upcoming construction.
The project will add a center lane and construct a sidewalk-shared use path from Schifferdecker Avenue to Central City Road. This project was included in the 3/8 cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax approved by voters in August 2014.
The construction contract was awarded at the beginning of August 2021 to Emery Sapp & Sons with work beginning this fall.
