(Joplin, MO) – With back-to-school season approaching, Joplin Parks and Recreation has announced the end of season schedule for Schifferdecker Aquatic Center.
Schifferdecker Aquatic Center, located at 4th Street & Schifferdecker, will be open daily through Sunday, August 15. The facility will be closed August 16 – 20 and will reopen for the final weekend of the season on Saturday, August 21 and Sunday, August 22 from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The facility will officially close for the season on Sunday, August 22 at 6:00 pm.
Admission is $5.50 for visitors under the age of 15 and $6.50 for visitors 16 years old and over. There is no charge for children age two and under.
“Back-to-school season is a challenging time due to most of our staff returning to high school and college,” said Jessica Johnson, Recreation Coordinator with Joplin Parks & Recreation. “Because of this, we made the decision to close when the area schools start. In the past, it was difficult to find enough staff to open the facility late in the season. We appreciate everyone’s support this past summer and look forward to seeing swimmers back next year.”
