Joplin Little Theatre Spotlight for July 2021

Joplin Little Theatre (JLT) is back in operation and gearing up for summer workshops and their 82nd continuous season! Here is what’s coming up this month:

Children’s Summer Workshop 2021

Enrollments are still available for the 2021 JLT Summer Workshop!

This workshop is for kids in kindergarten through middle school, ages five to fourteen, and the cost to enroll is $70 per child, per session. The enrollment process begins by calling the JLT box office at 417.623.3638 or by visiting the website at joplinlittletheatre.org.

Week One will run from July 12 to July 16 with morning sessions from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon sessions from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The theme of that week is Stranded on an Island and will follow a group of tourists as they find themselves stranded on a desert island after their cruise ship breaks down. They have landed in a beautiful paradise with waterfalls and volcanoes. Who will they meet along the way? Will they make it back to civilization?

Week Two will run from July 19 to July 23 with morning sessions from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon sessions from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The theme of the week is An Artist Finds Inspiration. Where do artists find inspiration? Together we will find the answer. We meet a group of uninspired artists who visit their fellow artistic friends to answer a question: How do they find inspiration?

Please note that in order to maintain safety guidelines, enrollment limited to 30 students per session.

A Message from the JLT President

Dear Patrons,

We are looking forward to seeing all of you again when our theatre reopens in September with the zany mystery comedy Clue: On Stage.

Our doors will open with a new, fresh look thanks to Project Facelift, despite some setbacks such as the two instances of flooding in the lobby and president’s room and vandalism that resulted in two broken windows. These added some hefty, unexpected expenses.

We are still pursuing our original project and will be ready to offer a fresh look, plus great entertainment for all of our valued patrons.

See you in September!

Signed Angela Lowe, President, JLT Board of Directors
