Camping is a great way to spend your summer, but there are some very important things to consider when selecting a campsite and the equipment you bring. Bring your explorers out to learn how to set up and pack their tent, be prepared to camp in a bear-populated area, and how to select the perfect campsite.
Colors of the Night

Have you ever wondered how the northern lights display their colors? Or why fireflies light up? Join us at the Wildcat Pavilion for an evening under the stars, learning about the colors of the night. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. We will sit in the park and enjoy the night sky.

Do all insects fly? What do they eat? Can we find them in our very own yard?
Join us to learn about some remarkably interesting insects that call Joplin home. We will read a story, make a critter craft, and go on a walk to look for fun insects inside our Wildcat Village.
