Crowder Foundation Honors Dr. Alan Marble as Outstanding Alum

(Neosho, MO) – Dr. Alan Marble, a 1973 graduate of Crowder College, has been named the school’s Outstanding Alumnus of the Year by the Crowder College Foundation. He was presented the award on Tuesday, August 25 in the Wright Conference Center in Farber Hall on the Neosho campus.

Dr. Marble has the unusual distinction of serving as president of two of the schools that awarded him degrees.

“Dr. Marble’s leadership has made southwest Missouri a better place to learn and live,” said Scott Wade, Foundation president. “We are proud that he got his start at Crowder.”

In 1979, Marble graduated from Missouri Southern State College, now known as Missouri Southern State University (MSSU). He joined the Crowder staff as the director of continuing education in 1986. He later served as the dean of business and support services, and in 2006 was named the interim president at crowder, becoming president the following year.

In 2013 Dr. Marble became the interim president at MSSU and was named president the following year. He retired from that position in June of 2020.

Dr. Marble and his wife, Lori, live in Neosho.
