(Joplin, MO) – As families prepare for the new school year, the Joplin Family YMCA is helping parents bridge the gap between the end of the school day and the end of the workday with its trusted After School Program for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Designed to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment, the YMCA’s After School Program gives children opportunities to learn, play, build friendships, complete homework, and stay active while parents finish their workday.
Our After School Program is about much more than childcare, it’s a place where children feel welcomed, encouraged, and inspired every day. Families can have peace of mind knowing their children are in a caring environment that supports healthy spirit, mind, and body.”
The program operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and serves children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The Joplin Family YMCA partners with local schools to provide convenient after-school care for eligible students.
Children enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities including:
- Homework assistance
- Arts and crafts
- Games and recreational activities
- Character-building opportunities
- Physical activity and social interaction in a safe, supervised environment
Parents enrolling their children should be prepared to provide required enrollment documents, including immunization records and other state-required forms. Enrollment information and program requirements are available online.
Program fees include:
- $50 registration fee
- $50 weekly tuition
The YMCA also offers financial assistance to qualifying families because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive regardless of financial circumstances.
Families are encouraged to register early, as space is limited and enrollment is completed online through the Joplin Family YMCA website.
