The Joplin Family YMCA is now accepting registrations for its Kansas City Chiefs NFL FLAG Football League, giving area youth an exciting opportunity to learn the game of football in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.

Open to children in Pre-K through 2nd grade, the league focuses on developing athletic skills while emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, confidence, and friendship. As an official Kansas City Chiefs NFL FLAG program, participants enjoy a structured league experience supported by the NFL that encourages both personal growth and healthy competition.

The 2026 fall season begins September 19 and includes a six-game guarantee, along with additional team practices. Games will be played on Saturdays, with practice dates and times to be determined by volunteer coaches.

Registration is open July 31 through August 31. The registration fee is $75 for Joplin Family YMCA members and $100 for non-members.

The Joplin Family YMCA is also seeking enthusiastic volunteer coaches who want to make a positive impact in the lives of local children. Coaching experience is not required—just a willingness to encourage, teach, and help young athletes have fun while learning the game.

Families interested in registering or adults interested in volunteering as a coach can visit www.joplinfamilyy.org/programs or call the Joplin Family YMCA at 417.781.9622 for more information.

At the Joplin Family YMCA, youth sports are about more than learning the game—they’re about building character, creating friendships, and helping young athletes develop healthy spirit, mind, and body
