City of Joplin Encourages Community to Offer Feedback on Jasper County Natural Hazard Mitigation Community Survey; Responses Needed by June 28

The City of Joplin is asking the community to assist them in gathering feedback for the Jasper County Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan Community.

Mitigation is effort to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters. Jasper County and participating local jurisdictions are working to update the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan — required by federal law to be updated every 5 years and reviewed annually.

Why is this important to the community and residents of Jasper County?

Disasters can happen at anytime and anyplace. Human and financial consequences are hard to predict. What we can change is the way we act to reduce the effects of these natural events on our families, our homes, our schools, our places of worship and learning, and the whole community.

What can I do?

This survey provides an opportunity for you to share your opinions and participate in the mitigation planning process.

How long is the survey?

The survey consists of ten questions and will take approximately ten minutes to complete. All responses are kept completely anonymous. The survey will close on June 28, 2026.

Where can I take the survey?

Residents can take the survey here.
