Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and ALLO Fiber Announce 2026 Golden Apple Award Winners

(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and ALLO Fiber are thrilled to announce the winners for the 2026 Golden Apple Awards.  

For 41 years, the Golden Apple Awards have recognized excellence in teaching and showcased to the public the outstanding quality of instruction and educators within the Joplin community. This year, 74 teachers from Joplin’s public and private schools were nominated by students, peers, and parents.  

The winners of the 2026 Golden Apple Awards are:  

Kindergarten to Second Grade  

  • Juliana Fonteont, Eastmorland Elementary School 

Third to Fifth Grade  

  • Ryan Lovell, Soaring Heights Elementary School  

Sixth to Eighth Grade  

  • Rachel Bowyer, South Middle School  

Ninth to Twelfth Grade  

  • Monica Brown, Joplin High School 

All nominees and individuals who nominated them were recognized during the ceremony on Monday, May 4 at Missouri Southern State University in Corley Auditorium.  

The Joplin Chamber would like to thank every student, parent, and teacher who nominated these exceptional educators this year. We also give a special thanks to the 2026 Golden Apple Award sponsors, ALLO Fiber and Missouri Southern State University’s Teacher Education Department.
