(Joplin, MO) – Joplin Schools is pleased to announce the promotion of Brock Compton as the next assistant principal of North Middle School beginning in July 2026.
Compton has taught in Joplin Schools since 2016, spending time in both elementary and middle school teaching roles. He has served on the Joplin Professional Development Team, as co-chair of the Long-Range Facilities Committee, and as the Health Plan Action Committee President. During his time at East Middle School, Compton has completed more than 800 hours in building-level administration roles including Substitute Principal and Administrative Intern.
Compton holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership (K–12) from Arkansas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Missouri Southern State University. He is trained in CPI, Adaptive Schools, Cognitive Coaching, and Reid Investigative Techniques.
“We are very excited to welcome Mr. Compton to the team,” said incoming North Middle School principal Jason Vieselmeyer. “Brock brings a strong sense of building community and relationships with staff and students. Those intentions, plus his experience of working with various committees across the district and in schools will make him an outstanding addition to North.”
“I’m excited to join the team at North Middle School,” said Compton. “The pride and positive culture within the building stood out to me right away, and it’s the kind of environment I value and work to support. I look forward to building strong relationships and contributing to a school where students and staff can succeed every day.”
