How long have you been a member of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce?

For 15 years.

How long have you been an Ambassador with the Joplin Chamber?

Ten years.

What is your favorite Chamber event/program?

The Chamber’s Hot Links Golf Tournament — it’s a fun event, is less formal, and is easiest to network as you tend to be amongst smaller groups of people.

What is your favorite memory from serving as a Chamber Ambassador?

I don’t have a specific memory in mind, but I do recall that we have taken some funny/lighthearted photos at times with certain ribbon cuttings. That’s always fun because you get to see a less formal, more animated side of your colleagues.

What would your advice be to new members of the Chamber?

Push yourself to fight through the awkwardness of networking events and attend anyway. Even if you spend most of the time by yourself or with one other person, just being present in the business community is a step you can build on to help you network and get some name recognition for your business.
