City of Joplin Announces Nighttime Lane Closures for Range Line Road Between January 5 and 7

Starting at 8:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026, lane closures will be established at the intersection of 7th Street and Range Line Road to allow utility work on manholes in the area.

Closures include the inside southbound lane on Range Line Road on both the north and south sides of 7th Street, and the eastbound traffic on 7th Street will experience the inside left-turn lane closed to prevent vehicles from turning into the closed southbound lane of Range Line Road.

The closures will be from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am on Monday, January 5, through Wednesday, January 7. The lane will reopen at 5:00 am on the following days of the night closures.

Crews will complete utility work to replace three existing manhole frames and covers located within Range Line Road. The City of Joplin is working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, which is responsible for Range Line Road.

Range Line Road is also referred to as Business Loop 49 (I-49 Bus.) and was previously designated as U.S. 71 Business until the I-49 designation replaced US 71 Business in 2012.

Drivers should exercise caution and merge into the open lane before reaching this closure. The City appreciates your patience as this improvement is completed.
