(Joplin, MO) – The Joplin Family YMCA is proud to announce the launch of its Capital Campaign, a transformative project designed to strengthen the Y’s capacity to serve the growing needs of the Joplin community. This initiative reflects the Y’s mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
The $2.5 million project will modernize and enhance nearly every area of the facility, including a redesigned front entrance, upgraded fitness areas, and the relocation of the Kids Zone to the front of the building for greater visibility and safety. The new Kids Zone will feature child-only restrooms, providing a more secure and family-friendly environment. Additional improvements include three new fitness studios, an expanded walking track, updated flooring, and a new exterior logo and signage.
“These renovations are about much more than updating our building — they’re about deepening our impact,” said Cookie Estrada, CEO of the Joplin Family YMCA. “Every space we improve allows us to better serve our members, families, and neighbors who rely on the Y as a place of belonging, growth, and community.”
